Controller and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Services
We understand that growing organizations need to expand their accounting and finance management, but don’t always have the resources to meet immediate needs. Our team can provide support to upper management by performing controller and CFO duties as needed. We can tailor our services to meet a full-time schedule or as many hours as needed. We can serve clients on a temporary basis during transitional periods and provide recommendations for growing the finance and accounting management team.
We can perform Controller duties such as:

Communicate financial results to upper management, Board of Directors, or Tribal Council as necessary;

Establish, monitor, and enforce policies and procedures and internal controls;

Provide guidance on compliance with Federal laws and regulations as applicable;

Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting department;

Review and authorization of financial reports;

Serve as the primary point of contact for the external audit;

Supervise budget creation, modification, and monitoring;

Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual close of books and records; and
-
Supervise the preparation of audit documentation for internal or external audit.
We can perform CFO duties such as:

Analyze financial reporting for performance and results;

Preparation and review of GAAP-compliant financial statements;

Determine capital financing needs, i.e., bond financing or bank loan financing;

Determine applicability of new laws and regulations and develop compliance and policy measures;

Design and implement financial strategy and/or policy;

Make recommendations to the Board of Directors or Tribal Council on financial matters;

Monitor grant compliance;

Monitor current financial condition and cash needs;

Oversee and carry out enhanced treasury management strategies;

Mentoring and training of accounting and finance staff; and

Respond to deficiencies and failure to meet goals by initiating corrective measures.
